HeadZone is a directory for professionals and children and parents about the local primary care services in Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Monmouthshire that support children and young people's mental health and emotional wellbeing. HeadZone provides information about what services are available, what they offer and how they can be accessed. It also provides information about regional and national organisations that work with children and young people and their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Services that are included in HeadZone are at the frontline of service delivery. Staff in these services are not usually employed for the main purpose of promoting mental health or trained in specialist mental health, but through their work they are well placed to:
- Identify issues that might compromise emotional wellbeing or mental health
- Provide general advice and support to children and young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health
- Promote good mental health
- Support children or families who may be more vulnerable to mental health or emotional problems because of their circumstances
